| Russell Simmons is on a mission in Africa. Alone. It was announced weeks ago that Simmons was taking Tsunami survivor/model Petra Nemcova with him on his fact-finding mission to learn how the international diamond industry can help Africa, a trip that is being paid for by - drum roll, please -The World Diamond Council. In his statement released yesterday, Simmons rambles on about why he's in Africa (seems Minister Louis Farrakhan and Rabbi Marc Schneir told him to) and mentions Nemcova backing out of the trip, but blames her absence on "political and business" ramifications and on her publicist, Ken Sunshine. |

| Petra Nemcova, supermodel, philanthropist and founder of The Happy Hearts Fund donated more than 150 computers and other educational technology equipment to The Andrew H. Wilson Charter Elementary School in the Broadmoor section of New Orleans. Nemcova will present the donation in person to the school's students on Monday, June 23rd at the 8th annual National Charter Schools Conference at the New Orleans Convention Center. Several students from Andrew H. Wilson Charter Elementary School will be on hand to receive the much-needed computers and other equipment. The formal presentation will take place in Convention Center Room 207 at 9:15 a.m. |
